Artwork by juvenile detention center youth to be displayed at Capitol

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – This weekend, you can attend an art reception with works from Kentucky juvenile detention center youth.

Youth at the Warren Regional Juvenile Detention Center and the Fayette Regional JDC have created various works that will be on display at the Capitol Theatre starting this Sunday, May 3.

That day, the community is invited to attend an art reception, “Hearts Behind the Violence,” that begins at 3 p.m.

The event is made possible thanks to the Capitol partnering with On the Move Art Studio. If you aren’t able to make it this Sunday, don’t worry – the works will still be on display during the month of May.

To see the work for yourself, you can drop by the Capitol on weekdays from 1o a.m. through 4 p.m.
