Rich Pond Elementary receives 27 Junior Achievement programs
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Earlier this fall, Rich Pond Elementary was able to provide its students with several programs.
Thanks to a partnership between Junior Achievement of South Central Kentucky and the Kiwanis Club of Bowling Green.
This is to further the student’s education and arm them with the tools they need to succeed beyond the classroom.
Junior Achievement gave Rich Pond Elementary 27 programs that impact 644 students during the 2018 fall semester.
This is thanks to a 5,000 dollar sponsorship given by Kiwanis to invest in the JASCKY Adopt-A-School program.
The Kiwanis Club “adopted” Rich Pond to bring a record number of programs to the school.
The programs include age-appropriate curriculums such as financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and college and career readiness.
Junior Achievement applied for the grant a few years ago for the first time.
They also chose Rich Pond because the school had no J-A programs at the time.
Abby Phillips, the Program Manager, credits volunteers and the community for the success of the programs.
Phillips says this marks the third year Junior Achievement has provided programs to Rich Pond Elementary.
She also says beyond providing programs, students experience real-world professional volunteers from their organization.
