Glasgow police to conduct traffic safety checkpoints

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints through the end of August.
Police say the checkpoints will be within city limits periodically starting Saturday, Aug. 2 through Aug. 30.
Authorities say the checkpoints will include but not be limited to Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway and Happy Valley Road.
During the checkpoints, officers say they will enforce laws related to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs, licensing of motor vehicles and operators, registration and insurance, seat belt and child restraint and motor vehicle equipment violations.
Police say the checkpoints serve as a tool to promote safety of the public.
