Logan County man arrested on DUI, multiple drug charges

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – A Russellville man is facing multiple charges.
According to a uniform citation, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to Sam Walton Drive in Russellville after a caller told them an intoxicated subject was about to leave Walmart.
Deputies say upon arrival, they located a vehicle matching the description that was speeding with no headlights on.
As deputies conducted a traffic stop, they say they detected the strong odor of alcohol coming from 43-year-old Brandon Madden.
The uniform citation states Madden had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and told deputies he had his most recent alcoholic beverage about 10 minutes prior to the stop.
Deputies say Madden stated he had begun drinking alcoholic beverages at 7 p.m. Wednesday night.
Madden was transported to the Logan County Detention Center and is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/substance, first offense (aggravating circumstances), failure to notify address change to Department of Transportation, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine), first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (heroin), possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, leaving the scene of an accident – failure to render aid or assistance, second-degree criminal mischief and failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, first offense.
