Power outages could take several days to restore, utility companies say

power lines outage electricity

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Some people may be without power for several days after severe weather, according to local utility companies.

Warren Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation stated Monday that it could take multiple days to restore power to 11,000 members.

Farmers Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation says members should be prepared for complete restoration to take at least until Friday. It is currently working to restore power to nearly 4,500 members.

Multiple utility company crews worked through the night and continue to work today.

Crews are facing downed lines, broken poles and some are needing alternate plans due to having electricity-dependent equipment. Farmers RECC says they have requested mutual aid, which will arrive within the next 24 hours.

Bowling Green Municipal Utilities says it is working to restore under 1,000 members. An estimate of completion has not been released at this time.

Please avoid downed lines for your own safety. The companies ask for patience as crews continue to work to restore power.
