Honda Motor expands recall of lawnmowers

(CNN) – American Honda Motor is recalling about 200 lawnmower and pressure washer replacement engines.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the starter rope can suddenly retract when pulled, posing an injury risk.

Back in September 2023, Honda recalled 391,000 engines for the same issue.

At the time, roughly 2,000 incident were reported to the company, including 38 minor injuries.

Since that recall, Honda received an additional 3,000 incident reports.

Honda advises anyone with a recalled engine to go to an authorized Honda power equipment dealer for a free inspection and repair.
