BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Medical Center at Bowling Green hosted its annual Nursing Awards on Wednesday.
The event recognized some nurses for being the best at the hospital, honoring the work they do daily.
Katrina Wood, chief nursing officer at the Medical Center, says, “1800 nurses or so, to be able to say I was one, one year, is really speaks to the quality and the dedication and the professionalism of any individual nurse.
One award recipient shared what inspired her to begin the work she continues today.
Natalie Hopkins, a 2024 Nurse of the Year at the Medical Center, says, “Helping take care of my aunts and grandparents when I was younger, I enjoyed caring for them, so I decided to go to school to be a nurse.”
Awards given out included Nurse of the Year, Nursing Rookie of the Year, The Faye White Nursing Leadership Award and The Clinical Support Staff of the Year.
If you want to show appreciation for a nurse in your life, National Nurses Week lasts through May 12.
