MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky. – Motorists can expect a ferry closure at Mammoth Cave on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Green River Ferry at Mammoth Cave National Park will be closed from 9 am on Tuesday, May 7 through 6 pm on Wednesday, May 8.
Officials say that the closure is due to frayed guiding cables. Park maintenance crews will be replacing the cables that help stabilize the vessel as it shuttles across the river. The ferry will resume operations at 6 am on Thursday, May 9.
The Echo River Springs Accessible Trail and the canoe and kayak launch, located in the Green River Ferry parking lot, will remain open.
