Walmart temporarily closes Leitchfield location

LEITCHFIELD, Ky. – On Sunday, September 5th, Walmart’s Corporate Affairs team sent out an email stating that the Walmart location on Elizabethtown Rd would temporarily close for third party cleaning crews to clean and sanitize the building.

The store will reopen on Tuesday, September 7th at 6 a.m. giving associates time to restock their shelves.

The statement also states, “Given the rise in positive cases through the Delta variant, we will follow CDC guidance, which includes fully vaccinated people wearing masks in public indoor settings in counties with substantial or high transmission.”

You can receive a COVID-19 vaccine at Walmart through scheduled or walk-in appointments. Walmart Associates who receive the vaccine will also receive a $150 bonus and up to three days paid leave if they experience adverse reaction to the vaccine.

The store will continue to implement associate health assessments once reopened.
