The Eric D. Yates Memorial Run takes place for the ninth consecutive year

The ninth annual Eric D. Yates Memorial Run happened Today. it’s a 5-K meant to honor the life and sacrifice made by former WKU Army ROTC member Eric Yates.

Yates was killed by an I.E.D while on duty in Afghanistan in 2010, and the memorial run was started by his mother to create and raise funds for the First Lieutenant Eric Yates Memorial Scholarship fund, which so far has helped more than 13 ROTC members at WKU.

The run is also a way to remember the ultimate sacrifice made by Yates.
