Logan County Sheriff’s Office investigates crash involving horse and buggy

LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – The Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to an injury collision Thursday evening.

According to Sheriff Stephen Stratton, deputies received dispatch to a report of a crash involving a pickup truck and a horse-drawn buggy on Bowling Green Road near Merritt Road at approximately 5:35 p.m.

Sheriff Stratton says the investigation found that the buggy, operated by John Mast, was traveling in the emergency lane before entering the right-hand travel lane to pass a pedestrian walking in the emergency lane.

A pickup truck, driven by Christopher Costello, struck the rear of the buggy.

Sheriff Stratton says Mast was transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green for injury treatment.

No other injuries were reported.
