New EV fast-charging sites open in Elizabethtown and Shepherdsville

ELIZABETHTOWN and SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. – Two more electric vehicle fast-charging sites are now open in Kentucky.
According to the Office of Gov. Andy Beshear, the charging stations are located in Elizabethtown and Shepherdsville.
“Electric vehicles are here to stay,” Beshear said. “That’s why we’re quickly expanding our charging network to make sure no family or business in Kentucky has to worry about where their next charge is coming from.”
The stations, developed by Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores, are part of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program administered by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, officials say.
Fourteen sites are open, while 14 are under construction statewide, the governor’s office says.
The Elizabethtown site can be found at 601 Ring Road off of the Wendell H. Ford Western Kentucky Parkway at Exit 133. The Shepherdsville site is located at 1090 Cedar Grove Road off of Exit 116.
Love’s was awarded $650,000 in federal funds for each location through the EV Charging Program, according to the governor’s office.
Both sites offer four ports capable of charging at up to 400 kilowatts each, officials say.
