2026 Football Frenzy Preview: Glasgow Scotties
GLASGOW, Ky. – Kickoff for the 2026 season is exactly three weeks away, and for our next Football Frenzy preview, presented by Bowling Green Fireplace and Grill, we check in with the Glasgow Scotties.
The squad is coming off an undefeated regular season (it’s eighth in program history) and is driven more than ever to keep up that success.
“ (I’m) super motivated to build off what we did last year and taking a run with it this year,” senior wide receiver Jaylen Bradley said.
While the Scotties want to carry that momentum into this year, they also recognize that each season is different, and this group has already found the words that sum up their identity this fall.
“Each team is its own thing,” head coach Jackson Arnett said. “Last year’s team, when it was over… it was over, and we started right away with the next one. That’s what you have to do. This group, our theme is the hunt. We’re always trying to hunt. We’re trying to hunt a state championship and when we say the hunt, we say 15 games, so that’s our goal.”
Joining that hunt is a new face on the Scotties this year in Landen Holley.
The senior will be filling the quarterback shoes and wants fans to know the kind of player he is.
“(I hope they see) how exciting I am as a player,” Holley said. “I’m not just going top sit back and throw the ball. I’m going to run and I’m going to try to hit somebody too.”
Holley might not have been here for Glasgow’s 11-1 season last year, but it’s not pressure he feels to help the Scotties make even more noise in 2026.
“It’s more kind of excitement to do it again and show everybody that it just wasn’t a flaw here and make a deep playoff push,” Holley said. “Hopefully state finals and hopefully a state championship.”
When Glasgow opens its season in August, Coach Arnett hopes fans see a group of Scotties who have what it takes to bring home a state title.
“They better see us flying to the ball, playing hard and just giving great, relentless effort on every single play for offense, defense and special teams.” Arnett said. “We want to play hard, play with class and play to win. That’s been the thing around here for a long time.”
Glasgow opens the season at home with Southwestern in the Don Franklin Bowl on Friday, August 21.
