Candlelight vigil held for 1-year-old who died in Allen County
ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. – A candlelight vigil was held Thursday for a young child that died in Allen County, authorities say.
Mason Moulding was a 1-year-old who law enforcement found unresponsive on Cottage Drive Monday.
“I will not forget what they did, but I will forgive them for what they did,” said Michael Moulding, the father of Mason Moulding. Michael Moulding said he received the phone call about his child’s death from a friend.
“And then I wake up to my son being gone. That is one hell of a way to wake up, I’ll say that,” Michael Moulding said.

Mason Moulding was born March 13, 2025, at 12:55 p.m. He was 6 pounds and 5 ounces, the first child and grandson. Mason’s grandmother, Crystal Pedigo, recalled beholding what she said is one of the biggest blessings in her life.
“I looked him straight in the eyes, and I just saw the purest, beautiful soul there was. I mean, I just don’t know how somebody could do somebody like that… a little baby,” Pedigo said.

During the service, there were songs played in remembrance of little Mason, Bluey attire, a balloon release and a candle lighting. Pedigo said it is urgent to report any form of abuse to law enforcement.
“If you ever see any kind of sign of abuse I don’t care if it’s in a store, call them right now because you never know who you might be saving,” she said.
Now, the family and community members are joining in hand to remember the little boy whose life ended too soon.

His father said if he could say one last thing to little Mason, it would be:
“I love you, and I wish you were still here,” Michael Moulding said.
