Multiple agencies respond to structure fire in Logan County

UPDATE on Aug. 25 at 3:30 p.m. 

LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – Additional details have been released following a structure fire in Logan County on Monday evening.

According to the Auburn Fire Department, on Monday around 4:50 p.m., Auburn units were dispatched to a reported garage fire at a home at 129 Willow Pond Road.

First responders say they arrived on scene seven minutes later and located a large, detached garage heavily involved in fire with two vehicles inside and two vehicles outside on fire. The department says there were concerns the fire may reach the residence.

Along with aid from the Russellville Rural Fire Department, additional aid was requested from the Warren County Fire Department System and Franklin-Simpson Fire Rescue.

Crews say they deployed a hose line to the garage and began working to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading.

In addition, the department says a second line was deployed to the residence through the front door, with an aggressive interor attack locating fire throughout the attic.

The fire was brought under control quickly, and crews spent the next several hours completing overhaul and confirming the fire was out, the department says.

LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – According to a Facebook post from the Warren County Fire Department System at approximately 5:00 p.m. Monday evening, Logan County requested mutual aid from Warren and Simpson Counties for a reported building fire with exposure concerns.

Browning FD units and Browning Chief King responded.

At the scene, crews found a detached storage garage fully engulfed in flames with a nearby residence also involved.

According to the post, Fire was found throughout the attic of the residence. Firefighters mounted an aggressive interior attack and brought the fire under control relatively quickly.
