Man arrested after entering WKU residence halls
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A man was arrested after illegally entering multiple buildings on Western Kentucky University’s campus this weekend.
Police arrested Darryl E. Bright just after 8 o’clock Monday night.
He was booked into the Warren County Regional Jail and charged with criminal trespassing. He has since been released.
University officials say the man illegally entered campus buildings two nights in a row.
On Sunday, the unarmed suspect entered Hilltopper and Rodes Harlin residential halls. After authorities removed the suspect from campus, he reappeared and attempted to enter Pearce Ford tower Monday night.
The university says they have surveillance video of the subject, but have not shared it with either our station or the students.
The Housing and Residence Life office sent an email informing students of the situation Monday afternoon, but some students say it wasn’t soon enough.
“I just found out this morning that this happened so knowing that this has been two days without anyone telling us, it’s a little concerning.”
The Housing and Residence Life Office says they will be hosting town hall meetings to address concerns and answer questions. They ask students to remain vigilant.
