Illinois man dies in vehicle crash in Hart County

A 56-year-old man from Illinois died over the weekend in Hart County after he crashed his vehicle on I-65.

According to Kentucky State Police, on Saturday morning around 10:00, Jerry Carter of Harvey, Illinois was traveling southbound when his vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway near mile marker 66.

The vehicle overturned and Carter was ejected. He was transported to the Medical Center Hospital at Caverna, where he was pronounced dead.

Troopers say he was not wearing his seatbelt. The investigation is still ongoing.
