Jaguars owner unveils plans to develop downtown Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jaguars have unveiled plans to develop downtown Jacksonville. Team owner Shad Khan committed $60 million to a city-owned performance center that was key in luring new coach Urban Meyer to the NFL. The first of two phases will take four years to complete and is estimated to cost $441 million. Jaguars President Mark Lamping said Thursday that Khan “is making a big bet on our future.” The first phase includes a Four Seasons hotel, a $120 million football facility built adjacent to TIAA Bank Field and a six-floor office building that will house retailers and the team’s business operations.
