Man charged with illegal possession of 12 guns in Russellville home

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – One man is facing charges after police say he illegally possessed 12 guns in Russellville.

According to a release by the Russellville Police Department, on Tuesday, officers searched a home located at 111 Sarah Lane in Russellville.

Authorities say they learned a convicted felon, 54-year-old Anthony Rittenberry, bought a gun recently.

During the search, police say they located a dozen guns, including hunting rifles, AR-15s and handguns, along with body armor and ammunition.

Rittenberry was taken into custody and lodged in the Logan County Detention Center.

He faces 12 counts of felon in possession of a firearm and nine counts of felon in possession of a handgun.

Officers were assisted by the Russellville Police Department/Logan County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Detectives and ATF.
