WNKY News 40 fireworks guide: Where to watch fireworks this weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Our team put together a list of events taking place this Fourth of July weekend in the local area.
Friday, July 3
- Thunderfest 2026 at 4 p.m. at 885 Mount Olivet Road in Bowling Green. To learn more, click here.
- Fireworks in the Park at Dugas Park in Scottsville. Fireworks will start at dark, according to organizers. More here.
- 2026 Cave City Fireworks Show at the Cave Area Conference Center. The pre-show will be at 6 p.m., while fireworks are scheduled for 9 p.m. at 502 Mammoth Cave St. The event will include food trucks, music, games, and, of course, fireworks! More here.
- The Kentucky Headhunters and Fireworks at Bowling Park in Edmonton. The band will take the stage at 7:30 p.m., with fireworks to follow the concert. Admission is free. More here.
Saturday, July 4
- Fourth of July Spectacular at Bowling Green Ballpark. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., a Spazmatics live performance is scheduled for 8 p.m., and fireworks will take place at 9:30 p.m. More here.
- Hart County Veteran’s Committee Fourth of July Celebration Laser Show. Gates open at 2 p.m., and the event will feature live music, food trucks, and donations will be accepted to support Hart County Veteran’s Committee at 3324 S. Dixie Highway. More here.
- Fourth of July at Barren River Lake State Resort Park. A fireworks show will take place, sponsored by Friends of Barren River Lake and Park, with fireworks starting below the lodge at 9 p.m. Activities will also take place from 2 to 8 p.m. More here.
- Green River Catfish Festival fireworks at dusk at the fairgrounds off of Old River Road in Morgantown. More here.
If fireworks aren’t your thing, you can also stop by the Aviation Heritage Park & Museum for its Freedom Gallery opening on July 4, or you can head to Cave City Cars and Coffee: Truck Thunder from 8 to 11 a.m. on July 4 in downtown Cave City.
