Woman charged with DUI after 2 crashes in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly crashing while driving under the influence in Bowling Green.
According to a uniform citation, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported collision in the 6500 block of Cemetery Road.
Upon arrival, authorities say a driver, identified as 41-year-old Heather McPeak of Scottsville, was seen exiting through the windshield of her vehicle that had rolled onto its side.
Authorities say McPeak stated she had passed out behind the wheel before entering the opposite lane of travel and hitting another vehicle.
Due to weather conditions and the collision, Standard Field Sobriety Testing was not conducted on site, authorities say. Deputies say McPeak made statements regarding hallucinations, leading law enforcement to believe she was under the influence of illegal substances.
McPeak was placed under arrest and transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green. Following medical clearance and blood kits, she was transported to the Warren County Regional Jail.
The driver of the other vehicle involved was also transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green for non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say they had received multiple calls about a reckless driver on Cemetery Road that matched the description of the vehicle driven by McPeak. According to deputies, McPeak had also sideswiped another vehicle before the secondary collision.
The sideswiped vehicle contained three people, with one sustaining cuts to her face, authorities say.
McPeak is charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance, fourth or greater offense, second-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, driving on a DUI suspended license, third offense, leaving the scene of an accident – failure to render aid or assistance and third-degree possession of a controlled substance – drug unspecified.
