Man charged with attempted unlawful transaction with minor in Allen County

ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. – One man is charged with attempted unlawful transacton with a minor in Allen County.

According to the Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force, 77-year-old Dwight Byrn was arrested on the charge. Authorities say they believe based on observations by detectives, Byrn may have solicited multiple individuals for sexual activitiy.

According to jail records, Byrn is additionally charged with prohibted use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor regarding sex offenses. Jail records state Byrn was arrested Monday, Aug. 24.

Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues, authorities say.

Byrn has since been released from the Allen County Detention Center.
