Glasgow native is next U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations
GLASGOW, Ky.- A Glasgow native is the new U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.
The Senate confirmed Kelly Knight Craft Wednesday afternoon, ending a seven-month vacancy in the key diplomatic post.
Knight Craft was born in Fayette county but grew up in Glasgow. She graduated from Glasgow High School in 1980 and then the University of Kentucky in 1984.
Her father was once chairman of the Barren County Democratic Party.
Knight Craft replaces Nikki Haley, who stepped down in January.
