News 4o spoke to Dr. Jason Polk, a professor of environmental science at Western Kentucky University about the suds.
According to Polk, he and others are monitoring the situation closely, checking oxygen levels in the water, and trying to identify where the the “surfactant” might be entering from. Polk also said in the way of legal protections for groundwater, Kentucky does not have the same regulations in place as for service rivers.
