Grayson County deputies investigating after veteran grave markers stolen

GRAYSON COUNTY, Ky. – The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office says it is investigating the theft of bronze veteran grave markers.
According to deputies, the thefts occurred at two different locations within the county.
Authorities say the markers were placed in honor of the service and memory of veterans who lost their lives. According to the agency, the theft is “not only offensive to the families and communities involved but it is also a serious criminal matter.”

“To the person or persons responsible: be advised that this investigation is active and ongoing. In addition to theft-related offenses, Kentucky law addresses damage to or removal of grave markers under KRS 525.115, Violating Graves, which is a Class D felony. If you are involved, now would be the time to come forward,” the agency stated.
