DSSKY buddies want to ‘soft’ serve you Scoops of Joy
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Our buddies over at Down Syndrome of South Central Kentucky are now stepping into the ice cream business, and they want to serve you ‘Scoops of Joy’.
Thanks to a grant from Global Down Syndrome Network, the buddies will set up shop at the BG Ballpark this Saturday, ready to serve you with smiles ear to ear.
Stop by and help them kick off their new ice cream shop’s soft opening any time from 11 a.m. through 6 p.m.
DSSKY Executive Director Stephanie Morton said, “I’ve never seen someone as eager to work as these guys are…. With COVID and us having to withdraw so much from human interaction for so long we are just overly eager in the community, and it’s even more fun.”
Stephanie says the Buddy House’s long-term goal is to own a truck or trailer and encourage its members to go out into the community to learn self-advocacy and bring joy.
The DSSKY wants to keep highlighting inclusion awareness, hoping to soon take this ice cream venture community-wide.
