BCEA breaks ground on third speculative industrial building at South Cooper Industrial Park

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Barren County Economic Authority, alongside community leaders, partners and local officials, officially broke ground today on Speculative Building Number Three in South Cooper Industrial Park.

The 60,000-square-foot industrial facility, located on approximately 15.32 acres on Site 2, is being developed in partnership with Scott, Murphy & Daniel and is designed to meet the growing demand for speed-to-market industrial space. Scott, Murphy & Daniel will oversee construction of the project, continuing the company’s longstanding partnership with BCEA on industrial development projects throughout South Central Kentucky.

Construction will begin immediately following the groundbreaking, with completion anticipated in early 2027.

The new facility marks another milestone in BCEA’s continued efforts to position Barren County as a competitive location for business investment and job creation. Designed with expansion capabilities up to 240,000 square feet, the building will provide flexibility for future manufacturing, distribution and logistics operations while reducing the time it takes for companies to begin operations.

The Authority’s third speculative building builds on the success of its previous speculative buildings in South Cooper Industrial Park. Buildings on Lots 1 and 7 are now occupied by Bluegrass Ingredients and Union Coating, demonstrating the continued demand for speculative industrial facilities in the region.

The groundbreaking ceremony welcomed BCEA investors, Board members, elected officials, community partners and regional leaders in celebration of another investment in Barren County’s future.
