Allen County man arrested after authorities find ‘concerning living conditions’ at home

ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. – An Allen County man is behind bars after authorities say they found drugs during a traffic stop.
According to a social media post by the Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force, on Monday, Aug. 18, detectives with the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle containing an adult male and two young children.
During the stop, authorities say they found around 3.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine ad drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
According to authorities, the investigation led both agencies to a residence, where they found “concerning living conditions” and additional evidence.
The male subject, identified as 44-year-old John Suddarth, was arrested on multiple charges, including first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine), trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, operating on a suspended or revoked operators license, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, no registration receipt, improper registration plate and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Authorities say the children’s’ mother was cited to court.
According to authorities, the children were removed from the home and will be staying with a family member.
The crime task force stated, “Children deserve a safe and appropriate place to live. Conditions that place children at risk will not be ignored or tolerated in our community.”
The investigation remains ongoing. All charges are allegations, and defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
