Shank trying to use IndyCar break to finalize future plans

LEXINGTON, Ohio (AP) — Michael Shank will use IndyCar’s monthlong break to work on the long-term future of his race program. The team has been on a high since Helio Castroneves won the Indianapolis 500 and Shank wants to lock down all the pieces for 2022 over the four-week break. Meanwhile, there’s expected driver changes coming at Andretti Autosport, and Romain Grosjean could be in play for one of the Andretti seats. And current championship leader Alex Palou is going to use his time off to put the work in needed to close out his first IndyCar title.
