3 dead following weekend crash in Muhlenberg County

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. – Three people are dead following a collision in Muhlenberg County.

According to the Kentucky State Police, troopers responded to a fatal collision that occurred on Sunday at the intersection of U.S. 431 and Power Plant Road in Muhlenberg County.

Authorities say a preliminary investigation found a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Whitney Duarte of Central City was traveling southbound on U.S. 431 when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a Ford pickup truck driven by 56-year-old Kevin Latham of Bremen, Kentucky, containing a passenger identified as 67-year-old Joey Watkins of Central City.

All three individuals were pronounced dead at the scene by the Muhlenberg County coroner.

The investigation remains ongoing.
