Grant Newell to join Chicago Bulls for NBA Summer League
CHICAGO, IL – WKU men’s basketball forward Grant Newell joined the Chicago Bulls for the 2026 NBA Summer League.
The league gives young players the chance to compete for regular season spots.
The Hilltoppers graduated nine players this past season and Newell was among the best of his class.
In his lone season on the Hill, Newell averaged 13.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game and cashed in 58 three pointers.
Newell reached double figures in 24 contests, including five 20-point performances and received an All-Conference USA Honorable Mention.
Originally from Chicago, Newell came to Western after transferring from North Texas.
While fans might no longer get to see him on the court at Diddle Arena, he now has a chance to be seen in Las Vegas, Nevada, where the summer league will take place from July 9-19.
