PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — This is the 20-year anniversary of Tiger Woods making his 60-foot, bending birdie putt on the island green at TPC Sawgrass that was described as “better than most.” It wasn’t even the best that day. Robert Allenby recalls making a putt even longer about an hour earlier during the third round of the 2001 Players Championship. But it wasn’t on TV. He wasn’t in contention. And Robert Allenby is not Tiger Woods. As for this year’s Players, Bryson DeChambeau won’t be able to play the 18th hole at Sawgrass down the ninth fairway. The PGA Tour decided to have internal out-of-bounds to prevent that.
