BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Wednesday afternoon, the Bowling Green – Warren County Drug Task Force, with assistance from ATF, and the Kentucky State Police Interdiction Team arrested Joseph Budd, 21, of Bowling Green, according to a release from the task force.
Budd is charged with first-degree trafficking in controlled substance (meth), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, resisting arrest and first-degree fleeing or evading police on foot, according to the release.
The arrest occurred at 1:45 p.m. in Bowling Green.
Budd’s residence was under surveillance in an ongoing drug investigation.
He was seen leaving his residence on Grider Pond Road in a vehicle as the passenger.

After a brief encounter, police said he ran away from them.
Budd led KSP on a foot pursuit for about a block where he was taken into custody by KSP and DTF detectives.
Officials seized a sawed-off shotgun, shotgun shells, baggies of methamphetamine and digital scales from Budd and the vehicle, according to a release from the task force.
Budd has two prior felony convictions.
Budd was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail pending arraignment in Warren District Court.
With assistance from the ATF, this investigation will also be presented to the United States Attorney’s Office for possible federal prosecution.
