Warren County Courthouse closes due to COVID
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Warren County Judge-Executive Mike Buchanon closed the Warren County Courthouse Wednesday due to COVID-19 concerns, according to a post on the Warren County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
The courthouse is closed for business until Monday.
Write-in and any remaining mail in votes postmarked by the proper deadline that haven’t yet been counted will be counted Friday.
Only the sheriff’s office dispatch and deputies will be inside the building until Monday. Anyone who needs to pay property taxes can use the drop off box on College Street or the online service portal.
“Warren County Clerk’s motor vehicle office had an employee test positive for COVID-19,” Buchanon said in a release. “After consultation with the Director of Public Health, I’m directing all employees of the Motor Vehicle office within the County Clerks office, who’ve had direct exposure for 15 minutes or longer in the last 2 days this week, to quarantine at home until and including Nov. 17.
“I regret that this includes most of … the motor vehicle staff, so this will require the Motor Vehicle office to close during that time. We plan to reopen the Motor Vehicle office on Wednesday, Nov. 18.
“We recognize this will be more than just an inconvenience for many people during these next two weeks, and deeply regret the necessity of this action. However, this action is required in the interest of the public health and safety, and for the protection of the office staff and employees and all Warren County citizens,” he said.
