Man shot in Glasgow, woman behind bars

GLASGOW, Ky. – A Glasgow man was shot and injured Monday morning inside of a home on Leslie Avenue and a woman is in jail accused of shooting him after the two used illicit drugs.

Police were called to 309 Leslie Ave. to investigate the incident where a man was shot at least twice inside the home, according to Glasgow police.

When officers arrived, they found James Kingery on the second floor of the home and he had a gunshot wound, according to a release from Glasgow Police Department.

Terri Carroll, Kingery and small child had arrived at the home prior to the shooting, according to the release. Carroll told police she went inside the home, locked the door and left the child with Kingery who she claimed had been acting strange, according to the release.

Carroll went upstairs and heard glass breaking as Kingery forced his way into the home upstairs where he was shot, according to the release.

Neighbors heard the gunshots. A neighbor also confirmed that the man who was shot had been banging on the door shortly before she heard gunshots. The door was splintered and appeared to show signs of forced entry, police said.

Kingery was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Carroll told police that she had used spice earlier in the day and Kingery told police the two had used methamphetamine, according to the release.

Social services removed the child from the scene. Police have not released the child’s identity.

Carroll was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
