Domestic disturbance call leads to arrest in Edmonson County
BROWNSVILLE, Ky. – Edmonson County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Tuesday on multiple charges while following up on a domestic disturbance call.
Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office made contact at about 4:41 a.m. with Jay J. Norris, 49, of N. Alexander Creek Road to follow-up on a report of a domestic disturbance, where shots were reportedly fired inside the home.
When deputies made contact with Norris, deputies said he had two pill bottles; one contained aN unspecified controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and the other contained suspected methamphetamine, according to a release from Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies searched the property and said they found a loaded revolver, a loaded Glock pistol, suspected Gabapentin and marijuana, according to the release.
Deputies also observed bullet holes inside the home matching the trajectory of the domestic disturbance report from earlier, according to the report.
Norris was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, first-degree possession of a controlled substance first offense (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, third-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense, according to the release.
Norris was lodged in the Hart County Jail.
