Traffic stop leads to felony drug arrest

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Following an investigation conducted by the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force, surveillance and a traffic stop, a Bowling Green man is facing multiple charges including felony drug trafficking.

A Kentucky State Police trooper said he saw Brandon Martin, 39, fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of 12th Street and Clay Street. The trooper also noticed tinted windows that appeared to exceed what is allowable by law, according to Martin’s arrest citation.

The trooper stopped the car Wednesday afternoon and could clearly see a THC vape cartridge and a package of Narcan, according to the citation. The THC vape cartridge contained 81 percent THC.

Police searched the car and said they found 22 grams of suspected methamphetamine, digital scales and additaional THC vape cartridges, according to the citation.

Martin was arrested and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking in marijuana less than eight ounces, possession of drug paraphernalia, disregarding a stop sign, excessive window tint and failure to wear a seat belt.

Police seized $1,585 cash, according to a release from the task force.

Martin was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail. His bond is set at $3,000.
