2 arrested after drug bust in Christian County

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. – Two people are behind bars after a drug bust in Christian County.

According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday, Oct. 9, the agency’s Anti-Crime Unit obtained a search warrant for an apartment on North Elm Street following a drug trafficking investigation.

Authorities say during the search, they discovered methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, a marijuana grinder, two guns and drug paraphernalia.

Deputies say one of the guns had been reported stolen out of Clarksville, Tennessee.

As a result, 55-year-old Sharrod Kendrick of Hopkinsville and 65-year-old Jaton Spencer of Hopkinsville were arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking cocaine, receiving stolen property (firearm) and trafficking marijuana.

Kendrick was additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and was found to have a warrant by the United States Marshals Service.
