First responders rescue lost hikers on Laurel Lake

LONDON, Ky. – Two lost hikers are safe thanks a rescue effort Sunday night in Laurel County.

According to the London-Laurel Rescue Squad, units were notified around 11 p.m. regarding two lost hikers in the area of Marsh Branch on Laurel Lake.

First responders say Laurel Dispatch provided responders with coordinates, which led to a fire built by the lost hikers.

Rescue crews say they were able to transport them safely back to the boat ramp.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office additionally assisted on scene.
