FRANKLIN, Ky. – Dozens of local leaders gathered at Millhouse Café in Franklin for Andy Barr’s meet and greet.

As he runs to fulfill the soon-to-be vacant seat left behind by Sen. Mitch McConnell, he’s making several stops across south-central Kentucky.

Barr says, ” Franklin, Kentucky is growing. It is a very important county on the border with Tennessee. Simpson County, Warren County, the fastest region of our Commonwealth. And I recognize how important it is to the economy of the entire Commonwealth of Kentucky.”

As a senior member of the House Financial Services Committee, Barr sees the region’s growth as an opportunity for local and state economic development.

He says, “I’ve been in the congress for seven terms. I know the people. I know the policy issues. I have expertise in national security issues. Domestic policy issues. Being an advocate for limited government and free enterprise and businesses,, and the engine of growth for our people. And I think they see that.”

He also shares, “I want to go to the United States Senate to be an advocate for South Central Kentucky and the interest from the citizens of south central Kentucky in my candidacy. I think what they are looking for in the next united states senator for Kentucky is someone who can hit the ground running on day one.”
