Hot Rods celebrate National Dairy Month with Dairy Night at the Ballpark

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Hot Rods celebrated National Dairy Month with Dairy Night at the Ballpark on Friday, giving families a chance to learn more about Kentucky’s dairy industry while enjoying an evening of baseball.

The event featured family-friendly activities highlighting local agriculture, including Chaney’s Dairy Barn, along with promotional giveaways from The Dairy Alliance, a nonprofit organization that partners with farmers, schools and sports teams to educate the public about the dairy industry.

The night’s festivities recognized the contributions dairy farmers make to communities across the commonwealth.

Mekenzie Panhans, vice president of corporate and environmental affairs for The Dairy Alliance, said the event was a fitting way to honor Kentucky’s dairy farmers.

“It’s the perfect way to celebrate the commitment that dairy farmers make every single day to animal care, the land and their local communities,” Panhans said. “Kentucky is home to 330 dairy farm families and about 39,000 dairy cows. The industry has a tremendous economic impact through milk production while also supporting communities across the state.”

National Dairy Month is observed each June to recognize dairy farmers and raise awareness about the role dairy products and agriculture play in communities throughout Kentucky and across the country.
