The Kentucky Center for Leadership Luncheon brought leaders to Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Kentucky Center for Leadership luncheon brought leaders from all over the commonwealth to Bowling Green, giving leaders on a state and local level the chance to discuss important topics when it comes to media and how it impacts communities and the leaders within the community

“To even connect folks in South Central Kentucky to other parts of the state. It was really valuable for me,” Renee Shaw, KET Director of Public Affairs, Moderator, and chief anchor, said. “And not just listening to me, but got a chance to really listen to them about what concerns them about news delivery and content about what they would expect or hope for and what could be done better.”

This open discussion gives everyone a better understanding, and it also bridges the gap.

There’s a lot to build, a lot to do, but there’s a great group of people to work with that are super knowledgeable, very experienced, and they all have hearts of leaders,” John Gregory, the new Executive Director for the Kentucky Center for Leadership, said.

The knowledge gained at the luncheon doesn’t just support one group of people.

“When you can step outside of the storytelling role for just a few minutes or an hour to listen and to get feedback, it helps you sharpen your skills,” Shaw said. “Iron sharpens iron, and if you want to be better you got to hear what people are saying.”
