BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WHAS Crusade for Children awarded a grant to Family Enrichment Center (FEC) to support local children.

According to a release, the grant will help FEC identify special needs and provide therapy, OT, and PT services to children. The funding will support therapy services at Wee Care Child Care Center for children ages 0-4.

“We are deeply grateful for the WHAS Crusade for Children’s commitment to helping children in our community,” said Nickie Jones, Executive Director. “This grant will allow us to provide screenings and therapy services to children attending our Wee Care Childcare Center. Our goal is to identify any special needs and connect families with the services they need before too much time has passed. This will help children to have their best start in preschool and when they attend Kindergarten.”

The Wee Care Child Care Center, a non-profit childcare program, has been in operation for over 40 years.

The WHAS Crusade for Children, established in 1954 by WHAS-TV, has raised more than $225 million to make life better for children in Kentucky and Southern Indiana, according to the release.
