Three Med Center Health rural hospitals recognized nationally for safe, quality care

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Three rural hospitals have received national recognition for safe and quality healthcare.
The Medical Center at Caverna, The Medical Center at Franklin, and The Medical Center at Scottsville have been given the distinction of The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Acute Heart Attack Ready Accreditation.
The hospitals were reviewed onsite and remotely and received recognition for continuous compliance with performance standards.
“We are proud to be recognized as an Acute Heart Attack Ready Hospital that is certified by The Joint Commission. This is a designation that signifies our commitment to delivering the highest level of emergency, cardiac care to our communities. Heart disease remains a leading cause of death in the United States and in Kentucky. Earning this certification is another example of how Med Center Health is expanding access to higher levels of care in the rural communities we serve,” said Eric A. Hagan, Vice President, Rural Hospitals.
“As a healthcare accreditor, The Joint Commission works with healthcare organizations across care settings to inspire safer and higher quality of care that is more equitable and compassionate,” says Ken Grubbs, DNP, MBA, RN, Executive Vice President of Accreditation and Certification Operations and Chief Nursing Officer, The Joint Commission.
