Cooling centers open in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Several cooling centers are open to the public in Bowling Green as intense temperatures sweep across the area.

The following locations are open this week:

• All branches of the Warren County Public Library during regular business hours.
• Lifeskills Wellness Connection at 428 Center St. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Thursday this week.

When the heat index is high, the Salvation Army also opens its dining room beyond its lunch hour.

In addition, laundry and showers are available at the Life Navigation Center at 423 W. Main Ave. Organizers say the final shower is allowed at 3 p.m., and the last laundry slot is 2:30 p.m.

Those needing transportation can use the WCPL’s Little Free Shuttle for transport to the library, Wellness Connection 0r another cool spot. The shuttle can be contacted at 270-781-4882 ext. 904. For more information, click here.
