Man accused of intentionally causing serious crash in Allen County

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A man is accused of intentionally causing a serious crash in Allen County.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported two-vehicle collision in the 9000 block of Franklin Road on Sunday.

ACSO’s preliminary investigation indicates that a woman was driving with her husband, 33-year-old David Williams. Authorities say that during an argument, Williams grabbed the steering wheel and intentionally turned the vehicle into the path of a truck, causing a head-on collision.

Investigators say that dash-camera footage shows the car traveling in the proper lane before suddenly entering the opposing lane immediately before impact.

Williams’ wife and the driver of the truck both sustained significant injuries.

Williams was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and first-degree criminal mischief. Authorities say additional charges are expected.

The investigation is ongoing.
