Scottsville man charged with 2 counts of attempted murder following shooting

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A Scottsville man is facing attempted murder charges following a shooting.

On Thursday morning, the Scottsville Police Department says dispatch received a 911 call around 11:30 a.m. reporting two gunshot victims at 215 N. Welch St. in Scottsville.

Police say upon arrival, officers saw a vehicle leaving the scene and began a pursuit.

Authorities say this led them to The Medical Center at Scottsville, where one of the gunshot victims was identified.

Police say they learned a gun-related altercation had taken place inside of the residence between 57-year-old Richard Wyche and 48-year-old Denny Lundy, both of Scottsville.

Police say Lundy sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.

A second victim, identified as 32-year-old Courtney Casey of Scottsville, was injured by gunfire and transported by Allen County EMS to The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

Wyche was apprehended shortly after without incident.

He remains at the Allen County Detention Center on two counts of attempted murder.

Scottsville police were also assisted by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department and Allen County Animal Control in this case.
