GLASGOW, Ky. – T.J. Samson Community Hospital is being recognized for its level of safety.

The hospital has earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit watchdog that focuses on patient safety, according to release by T.J. Regional Health.

The nonprofit assigns letter grades to general hospitals nationally based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.

“We work hard to create a culture of safety that is focused on compassionate, high-quality care,” said Neil Thornbury, CEO of T.J. Regional Health. “Our physicians, providers, management team and all of our team members are committed to the success of our patients, one another, and the communities we feel so honored to serve. We greatly appreciate this acknowledgment and will continue to work hard every day to improve our high level of engagement and dedication to the people of south central Kentucky.”

“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade reflects enormous dedication to patient safety,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “I extend my congratulations to T.J. Samson Community Hospital, its leadership, clinicians, staff, and volunteers for creating a culture where patients come first.”
