Former Allen County-Scottsville standout hosts youth soccer camp
SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. — Young athletes took to the field this week as former Allen County-Scottsville soccer standout, Emma Vick, hosted her second annual youth soccer camp.
The weeklong camp welcomes boys and girls ages 7 to 12, giving them the opportunity to develop their soccer skills through drills, games and hands-on instruction led by Vick.
While the camp focuses on fundamentals and player development, Vick says her biggest goal is to inspire the next generation of athletes.
After becoming the first Allen County-Scottsville Lady Patriots soccer player to sign with a college program in 2024, Vick said returning to the community where her soccer journey began has been especially meaningful.
“It makes me extremely happy because, growing up, soccer wasn’t very big for me,” Vick said. “I want to help make it bigger for the kids coming up so they know that path is possible if they choose it. I hope I can be an inspiration and show them that they can achieve those goals too.”
Vick said she hopes the camp not only helps young players improve their skills but also builds their confidence and passion for the sport.
The camp continues through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at The CORE, located at 309 W. Cherry St. in Scottsville.
