Storm water work uncovers pocket of oil in Warren County

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – City officials in Bowling Green are confirming there is no natural gas leak off of Adams Street on Tuesday.
According to officials, drilling a storm water drainage well near the intersection of Adams Street and 13th Avenue resulted in a pocket of oil and natural gas being uncovered.
Officials say the contractor is actively working to seal this off.
They say there is no leak from the natural gas piping, and “hazardous concentrations have not been observed.”
Atmos Energy responded to the scene, and officials say the issue should be resolved shortly.
